This version is so tragic. With a few exceptions, the raps are butchered and the scratches are totally discarded. The only good reason to listen to this is to hear the SP-12 beats remastered (i.e. not recorded to a cassette 4 track) and to revel in their glorious crunch and boom bap. In terms of raps though, Buck was so far out of his hardcore rhyme zone when he rerecorded these that it’s just… disastrous. The tape version might be my favourite shit ever though.
